Embracing creativity in workplace design

Innovation and creativity is core to business success today. A study found that companies who embrace creativity outperform their competitors in revenue growth, market share and talent acquisition. They also enjoy a high-performance environment and a positive workplace culture.

It’s hard to be creative at work if your workplace is outdated, drab and uninspiring. These days, almost anything goes when it comes to workplace design, and we’re helping more and more clients embrace creativity in the workplace, with playful, fun, dreamy and imaginative environments that charge the senses and support organisational outcomes.

Colour & texture

The colours and textures used can reinforce your brand personality and influence emotions and behaviour. They can make employees feel calm and focused, or customers feel excited and ready to buy. Consider how you want people to feel in your office then choose elements that enhance these emotions, from wall colours and accessories, to light fittings and furniture.

Furniture & lighting

Experimenting with furniture and lighting is a great way to make an office space more creative and fun. A funky lounge, comfy cushions or impressive feature lighting can transform a collaborative space, making it more enjoyable for employees, so they’re inspired to develop better ideas for your business.
A kitchen or break-out area that helps your team to relax, recharge, be more productive and focused when they get back to work.

Floors, walls & ceilings

Just because they’re intrinsic within the architecture, doesn’t mean they have to be plain. Floors, walls and ceilings can be injected with colour and texture too. You may opt for industrial-style polished concrete or colourful carpet tiles in different textures.

The use of wood panelling, garden walls and textured wallpapers are great ways to add interest and warmth to a bare wall. Consider decorating your walls with graphics and artworks to liven up the space, or make the most of exposed beams and pipes for a funky warehouse feel.

Good, clean fun

Many businesses have realised that turning their office into a fun and entertaining space keeps their employees happy and engaged. Simple ideas like adding a pool table, big screen TV or gaming console can foster creativity and even encourage healthy competition.

If you’re feeling really wild, why not add a slippery slide so employees can slip from one floor to another? When it comes to creativity, the sky’s the limit.
